Tommy Little offered a few off-colour jokes throughout the evening. He started by making a joke suggesting that celebs did cocaine in the cubicles.
He then said a bizarre thing about the music he plays as a radio host on the Hit Network. “Even if it’s shit, if we play it on my station, I love it,” he said in his opening monologue.
Little then brought Troye Sivan on stage to tell him ‘Rush’ was ineligible for ‘Best Video’ as it was filmed in Germany. Lovely!
At one point, Tommy and Brooke cut to Genesis Owusu who didn’t seem to know why he was appearing in a televised segment. He would go on to win for ‘Best Independent Release’ and ‘Best Hip Hop/Rap Release’.
Halfway through the awards, Tommy told a long, convoluted story about hosting an event at Rod Laver Arena and failing to stage-dive.
The punchline fell flat.
Marcia Hines definitely read from the wrong teleprompter.
